As the overall strategic and operational IT leader of Asia's premier fully integrated healthcare organization with one of the largest network of hospitals and healthcare services in the region, the CIO will be responsible for : |
|
- Development of an overall long-term Technology Vision in line with the vision, mission, strategic priorities (for People, Quality, Service, Finance & Growth) and values of the organization
- Development and implementation of comprehensive Technology/IT Strategies aligned and integrated with short/medium/long term business objectives
- Design and development of technology proposals/initiatives to help achieve clinical excellence, customer satisfaction, operational efficiencies, skill enhancement and overall growth. Act as the key Technology Advocate in 'selling' these proposals to various stakeholders. Present key technological advances and successes to print/electronic media.
- Conceptualization, development and assimilation of new/emerging technology-driven (including web-enabled) solutions.
- Change Management; Business Process Reengineering and Outsourcing

- Leadership and management of IT Operations; Operating Processes and Policies; IT Planning & Budgeting; Complex Project Management; In-house and external Application Development; and User Training programs
- Leadership of Design, Architecture, Maintenance and Support for IT Infrastructure including connectivity, scalability, IT Security and Disaster Recovery
- Selection, integration, implementation and maintenance of enterprise solutions e.g. ERP, CRM, Datawarehousing, Billing, Document Management and other systems
- Maintenance of the required systems architecture and protocols for data exchange with national health care network information systems and/or other regulatory requirements
- Selection, evaluation, negotiations with and management of IT Products/Services Vendors, including BPO service providers
- Team building and IT talent management; Training & Development; Mentoring and Coaching Introduction of Best Practices in IT and Knowledge Management

- Ideal candidates will be high caliber, senior professionals with IT leadership experience in regional/global private large tertiary healthcare service providers.
- They will be technology visionaries with a proven track record in developing and implementing enterprise-wide IT Vision and Strategies closely aligned to business requirements.
- They should be Engineering/Computer Sciences/Business Studies graduates from premier institutes and must have a minimum of 18-20 years of relevant experience. An MCA or MBA would be preferred but is not essential.
- They should be able to contribute to the overall business strategy and build a shared vision for technology deployment across all levels of the organization; sell the Technology Vision/Strategies/Initiatives to Board/Executive level and Medical/Clinical teams; and involve all users in its effective implementation.
- Prior experience in working closely with medical professionals to implement technology-led change management initiatives would be highly desirable.
- Candidates must have experience in leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and should have led large internal and external IT organizations responsible for application development and implementation and IT infrastructure management.
- Strong skills in planning, managing and monitoring multi-million dollar IT budgets will be essential.
In-depth knowledge of processes and system requirements of various functional departments in large Healthcare Service providers will be critical.
- Experience in evaluating competing IT solutions and vendors, their selection and management; the ability to make technology choices and take calculated risks, will definitely be required.
- Some consulting experience with top-tier strategy or IT consulting firms would be preferred.
- Prior exposure to Asian work environment and culture would be desirable.
